Tungsten Copper alloy

What is tungsten Copper alloy:

Tungsten copper refers to an alloy composed of tungsten and copper, and the copper content of commonly used alloys is 10% to 50%. The alloy is made by powder metallurgy method and has good electrical and thermal conductivity, good high temperature strength and certain plasticity. At very high temperatures, such as above 3000 ° C, the copper in the alloy is liquefied and evaporated, which absorbs a lot of heat and reduces the surface temperature of the material. So this kind of material is also called metal sweating material.

Properties and applications of tungsten copper alloy:

Tungsten copper alloy combines the advantages of tungsten and copper, of which tungsten has a high melting point (tungsten melting point of 3410℃, copper melting point of 1080℃) and a high density (tungsten density of 19.25g/cm, copper density of 8.92/cm3); Excellent electrical and thermal conductivity of copper, tungsten copper alloy (composition of the general range of WCu7~WCu50) uniform microstructure, high temperature resistance, high strength, arc ablation resistance, high density; Moderate electrical and thermal conductivity, widely used in military high temperature resistant materials, high voltage switch electrical alloys, electromachining electrodes, microelectronics materials, as parts and components are widely used in aerospace, aviation, electronics, electricity, metallurgy, machinery, sports equipment and other industries.

Tungsten copper alloy is used in aerospace as a missile, rocket engine nozzle, gas rudder, air rudder, nose cone, the main requirement is to require high temperature resistance (3000K~5000K), high temperature airflow erosion ability, mainly using copper volatilization at high temperatures formed by sweating refrigeration (copper melting point 1083℃), reduce tungsten copper surface temperature. Guaranteed for use under extreme conditions of high temperature.
